Seminar with Parents of Class 1 Students

Gulshan Junior Section of ITHS organized a ‘Seminar’ on 5^th September 2013(Wednesday) with the ‘Parents’ of Class 1 students. Every year Gulshan Junior Section organizes this seminar with the parents of class 1 students as they are the new comers to the school. ITHS believes that it is important to introduce the teachers and parents to each other and discuss some important issues before the students start their new journey.

 




 During the seminar the respective teachers of class 1 introduced the books and copies to the parents, explained the exam rules and marking system, explained different indoor activities that would be performed during school hours like Learn Manners, Project Presentation, Speech, Question of the Week etc. The teachers also introduced and explained extracurricular activities of the school which are Tidiness Club, Library Club, Debate Club, Football Club, Home Activity Reporting etc.

 

The parents were also been briefed on school uniform for both summer and winter as well as disciplinary rules of the school. After successful completion of the seminar the parents had a clear idea about the school environment as well as the activities their children are going to do.

Fruits & Vegetables

The students of KG section, Gulshan branch took part in a show on ‘fruits & vegetables’. This was done in order to teach the students the necessity of eating fruits & vegetables for a healthier life. 

Besides, they also learnt about the importance  of eating fruits and vegetables of different colors, of following the food pyramid for a balanced diet, the demerits of junk food, the different kinds of vitamin and other nutrients found in different fruits and vegetables etc. In the show, the students answered to the quarries of the guests. It was an enjoyable activity to encourage the students to practice healthy eating in their daily life.

Our Home

As a part of the science project the students of KG-2 made different kinds of houses with paper, cotton, cork sheets etc.  In this lesson they learnt about the necessity of staying in houses and also the different materials used to construct the houses. This was indeed an enjoyable activity for the students.

 

Toy shop

The students of KG-2 Gulshan branch, took part in an activity ie. ‘toy shop’. This was a part of their seesaw lesson (Eng-1), from pupil’s book.  This was done to teach them conversation in a shop.

 

 The student’s brought different kinds of toys. Some of them played the roles of shop keepers and the others were customers. They were given fake money’s to buy the toys. This was indeed an enjoyable classroom activity.
